Barnes and Noble Premium members like yours truly, have been treated to exclusive viewings of two episodes based on a bestselling novel. The latest was one I truly enjoyed; a two-episode viewing of the Hulu series, “Black Cake.”

Based on the New York Times bestseller, “Black Cake” by Charmaine Wilkerson, the original Hulu series tells the story of second chances and family ancestry when Elenor Bennett reveals her true life after her death to her two children Byron and Benny. Freedom does not come easily, as her adult children discover through a series of recorded conversations left by their mother.

If you’ve read the novel, you knew you couldn’t put it down until the end. This series will have you feeling the same way. The Hulu series honors the novel.

Thanks to Disney+ for the collaboration with Barnes and Noble for the two-episode preview. Hulu’s original weekly series, “Black Cake” premieres November 1st on Hulu.
